Since 1942, the Iowa Motor Truck Association has been a powerful voice for the trucking industry. Today we continue to influence policy and legislation that supports a pro-trucking, pro-business environment. We are committed to developing innovative and research-based policies that advance the priorities and goals of the membership.
During the legislative session, IMTA has a daily presence at the state Capitol. During the off-session, IMTA staff and volunteer leaders are regularly meeting with lawmakers and educating them on the issues and challenges facing the trucking industry.
Additionally, a group of IMTA members travel annually to Washington DC. On this trip, the Iowa delegation meets with all the members of Iowa’s congressional delegation. These meetings allow a valuable exchange of information and updates on the priorities on the national level. Throughout the year, IMTA staff maintains regular correspondence and communication with our lawmakers in DC so they have a thorough understanding of what is going on in trucking and how they can help in our efforts.
